Odesa Vocational Lyceum of Construction and Architecture is a state vocational
school of the second level of certification, which is part of the vocational education system and is subordinated to the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the Department of Education and Science of the Odesa Regional State Administration.
The lyceum is a legal entity, has an independent balance sheet, a current account, and a stamp with its name.

The duration of study after 9th grade is 3 years with a profession and complete
secondary education, and after 11th grade – 1 year with a profession.
🕰️ History of the Lyceum
The educational institution was founded on 08 April 1945.
In 1985, the school moved to a new 9-storey educational building built by the basic
enterprise ‘Odesbud’ and transferred to the school at the address: 63 Bazarna St.,
Odesa.
According to the Order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine dated
30.10.2002 No. 623 ‘On Improvement of the Network of Vocational and Technical
Educational Institutions of Odesa Region’, Vocational and Technical School No. 3 of
Odesa was reorganised into Odesa Vocational Lyceum of Construction and
Architecture.

Today, with the participation of the lyceum’s graduates and students, modern
residential complexes are being created in different districts of the city.
For almost 80 years, the institution has trained more than 20,000 skilled workers in
various professions.
🏗️ Training & Practical Centre
In 2007, the lyceum established a training and practical centre for innovative
technologies to teach students and apprentices advanced construction technologies,
develop and introduce new construction professions.
As part of the work of the training and practical centre, an agreement was concluded
with Knauf Gypsum Kyiv LLC on cooperation and implementation of advanced
construction technologies by Knauf.
♿ Inclusive Education
Since 2020, the institution has opened 3 inclusive groups in the following professions:
plasterer; tiler; painter, confectioner, restorer of decorative and artistic paintings;
restorer of decorative plasters and stucco products.
👨💼 Director of the Lyceum
The lyceum’s director, Ihor Chernenko, is a member of the Association of Vocational
and Technical Schools of Ukraine and co-author of the State Standard of Vocational and Technical Education in the profession of Restorer of Decorative Plasters and Stucco Products (2006). In June 2013, he was elected Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vocational Education and Training of Odesa Region.
💻 Digital Educational Centre
In the training and practical construction centre, students and apprentices from
vocational schools, workers of construction organisations, students referred by the
unemployment service, students of construction universities and others who are attracted to working with materials and technologies whose quality is confirmed by European experience can acquire the necessary theoretical knowledge and practical skills using KNAUF technologies.
A digital educational centre for children was launched at the Odesa Vocational
Lyceum of Construction and Architecture. The centre uses virtual reality, artificial intelligence, and other technologies in its training. The project was implemented by UNICEF and the Association for Innovative and Digital
Education in cooperation with local authorities. The mission of the digital education centre is to provide education for students who do not have full access to offline education in communities using the most modern educational technologies, including artificial intelligence, virtual reality, minecraft, uber-school, flipped classroom, etc.
The lyceum’s student body as of 01.01.2025 is: 356 students, including 75 on a
contract basis. Of these, 11 are orphans and children deprived of parental care, 6 are
children with disabilities, 14 are children whose parents are combatants, 2 are children
affected by the Chernobyl disaster and 3 are children with special educational needs.
Professions: painter, plasterer, tiler – 62 people.
Restorer of decorative and artistic paintings, restorer of decorative plasters and
mouldings – 80 people.
Electric welder for manual welding, mechanic for repair of vehicle wheels – 90
people.
Cook, confectioner – 84 people.
Confectioner – 15 people.
Installer of plasterboard structures, restorer of decorative and artistic paintings – 25
people.
The teaching staff of the lyceum is: 44 people.
🏢The institution trains skilled workers for the following customer companies.
In the construction sector – Hephaestus LLC, STIKON LLC, VSMO ODESBUD
LLC.
For road transport – FOP Shcheglov, Municipal Enterprise Edesmiskelectrotrans,
MasterVolt LLC, and TEON UKRAINE LLC.
For catering: Vlasta KP LLC, Southern Association of Chefs of Ukraine, and Drive-In
LLC, with whom contracts for internships and training have been concluded.
🎯 The main goals of the institution:
– Increasing the prestige of vocational education.
– Exchange of experience with international partners on the educational process and
the use of advanced technologies for teachers to implement modern interactive
technologies and methods for face-to-face, online and blended learning.
– Creating a secure e-learning environment, providing the necessary digital
infrastructure, and raising the level of digital competence of teachers and students.
– Effective integration of theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the context of
rapid changes in the labour market, insufficient material and technical support and
diversity of students’needs.

support joint learning and exchange between teachers/specialists on both sides of the
border’
